Sikkim – The northeastern territories of India is one of the best-kept secrets in terms of culture and nature. The easiest way to reach Mahabaleshwar is by taking a train to Pune from where taxis and cabs are readily available. 

Darjeeling – Known for its aromatic tea plantations, breath-taking views of Mt. Kanchenjunga and of course the famous toy train, Darjeeling is one of the most popular hill-stations in West Bengal. The most enticing part of Darjeeling for kids is the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, fondly known as “Toy Train”. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999, the train commences from New Jalpaiguri to reach Darjeeling via Siliguri, Kurseong, and Ghoom. Chugging across lush mountains, picturesque waterfalls, local markets, and riveting zigzags, the surrounding topography adds to the excitement of the kids. Do check the running status of the train as it sometimes gets canceled or delayed due to unforeseen reasons. 

Ooty – Referred to as the “Queen of Hill stations”, Ooty is perched amidst the Nilgiri Hills at a height of 2240m above sea level.
